Large Oak Chair

Description

A Large Oak Chair.

The Regency oak chair with a bowed and swept back rest, decorated with an anthemion from which spread classical scrolling leaves and flowers. The centre of the back with a carved flower head rondel, quartered by reeded and leaf decorated panels, spreading to each corner of the back. The arms sweeping downward to leaf and flower head paterae as per the back, and flanking the seat within broad rails. The chair standing on 'X' frame legs, crossing with oak leaf decoration, and finished with rounded stepped toes. The underside on the seat stamped three times for the maker 'F. Veluin, Upholsterer and Cabinet Maker, Bradford upon Avon'.
