Description

This quality Sterling Silver golfing trophy cup which is by Barker Brothers Silver Ltd is hallmarked for Birmingham 1936 and has an interesting inscription that reads The Sherwood Forest Golf Club. The R.L. Jones Cup.

This trophy cup has a silver figure of a golfer to the removable lid which has good detail, sits on it's black base which looks great on display and would make a very nice collector's piece for a golf fan.

Hallmark: The cup is hallmarked with Lion for Sterling Silver. Anchor for Birmingham. Date letter M for 1936 and maker's mark B.B S.L for Barker Brothers Silver Ltd.

Total height including base: 20 cm (8") approx.

Weight of silver cup only: 120 grams approx.

Weight including base: 190 grams approx.

Condition: Good antique decorative condition. A few very light marks and couple of minute dings. The silver base is creased at the bottom of the stem but the cup sits straight. Wood base has some wear.
