rare documentary early trade unionist porcelain decorated presentaion jug,circa 1815-20.decorated to the body with a finely detailed painting depicting two proud iron foundry workers holding a casting wheel and other foundry implements leaning against a sheild banner of the union with the motto.THE FRIENDLY IRON MOULDERS SOCIETY,in the background are industrial buildings with tall chimmeys and a further inscription reads.Industry and benevolence united in friendship,to the side of the jug two men are talking,one with the caption which reads .brother can you give me a job,and the other man says if we can assist you,the borders of the jug finely decorated in giltwork depicting birds amongst grapevines,to the reverse border butterflies.The iron moulders society was founded in bolton,lancashire in 1806.This jug on offer was probaly made and decorated at the rockingham or coalport factories at this period.circa.1815-20.size.20cm.high.20.cm.diametre
