As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this exquisite Meiji period 1868-1912 silver bowl, this sterling silver bowl is typically double skinned and designed very much in the art nouveau style of the early 20th century, a style heavily influenced by the artisans of Japan, the heavy quality silver foot rim supports a body formed as Iris and water lilies set in relief above the deep seated inner lining, the underside stamped by Miyamoto Shoko of Tokyo, Miyamoto were a high class manufacturer and retailer who held the distinction of suppliers to the Imperial household, a rare privilege at the time , a fine piece of Japanese silver from the latter part of the Meiji period .

Previously supplied by ourselves to a Portuguese collection .
