A Very Fine Antique Indian Rug of Ardabil Design. Exceptional Quality Kurk Wool.

1900 - 1920
Description

A very fine indian rug knotted with exceptional quality kurk wool. As good as any persian kashan rug

Central radial lobed palmette design with hanging lamps and a very busy palmette and floral nature to the butterscotch/cream ground with matching corner spandrels.

Has been hand washed last three images,plenty of images to look at.

All over good even pile. Minor fine cotton selvedges. Very minor side cord wear and reinforced from rear with conservators tape down each side.

Size is 7 foot 1 inches by 4 foot 6 inches. 216cm by 139cm. At widest points. Selvedges not measured in size. Very fine kurk wool pile hand knotted onto fine cotton foundations with the weft threads dyed an even finer light blue just like kashan rugs from persia.

Weighs 9.4kg. U.k post £20.
