Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The upper half of the bangle is decorated in Etruscan revival style with gold ball and scalloped detailing.
Fully hallmarked for nine-carat gold, Birmingham 1870, and stamped with the initials JS in a shield.

In very good antique condition overall, though there is a tiny area of gold beadwork missing at one side and two of the sapphires are chipped when viewed under magnification. No dents or obvious scratches. The hinge is in good working order and the push-down clasp slides open smoothly and shuts securely, with safety chain for additional security.
Size: Internal circumference is seven inches. The bangle is 9mm wide (north-south) at the front, and 6mm at the back.
Weight: 11.3g.
