Description

Stunning large 19th century bronze plate,c 1870. This is a quality piece,great casting,heavy (2.6 kg) and highly decorated in classical scenes.The central motif depicts a goddess figure with 'Tempe Rantia' inscribed above (a reference to the ancient Roman Goddess of Temperance).It is most probably a Grand Tour piece given the quality and subject matter.The colour /patina is good and it is in lovely original condition with only very minor surface wear.Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to view the item.
