Thomas Russell & Son was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

In 1881 the company started importing movements from Switzerland, such as the one we have in this particular watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed with the Thomas Russell name and Tempus Fugit logo and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the three covers for Birmingham 1920 with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison, the Dennison Watch Case Company was a prolific manufacturer of cases for many watch makers.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens. It has a little marking if viewed very closely but looks good to the naked eye.

The signed dial is is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
