Description

Facsimile portrait copy of a young Charles Dickens by Daniel Maclise. This portrait is a 1830's charcoal study of Maclise's famous Dickens Portrait in the National Portrait Gallery. Maclise was a very long friend of Charles Dickens and responsible for more then 108 Portraits of Dickens. This copy, formerly framed and taken out of it's frame for authentication purposes, might have been a bookplate and is signed by Charles Dickens.
