Very Long Victorian 9ct Gold Sautoir Chain with Dog Clip

Description

Dating from the mid- to late-Victorian period, this is a particularly substantial solid gold chain. With a springring clasp and a dog clip, as a necklace it can be worn in a number of ways - single, double, graduated, on its own or as a sautoir necklace with a pocket watch, locket or pendant hung from the Albert dog clip at one end.

In good antique condition, some surface wear; with fully functional clip and clasp.

Length: 30 inches (15 inches when doubled), not including 2cm clip.

Width: 5mm.

Weight: 47.6g - hefty enough to feel substantial but still comfortable to wear.
