Description

An unusual French triptych cheval mirror attributed to the renown company of Miroir Brot of Paris.This mirror is made of golden oak with each mirror set within a solid brass frame and having velvet covered back panels. The 3 mirrors are housed in the stand which has subtle moulded detail and stands on outswept legs with horn casters. The whole in very good condition with a couple marks to one mirror which is viewable in photos.The famous company of Miroir Brot owes its establishment to Francois Brot who in 1826, in the heart of the Old Paris, near the historic Place de la République achieved great success with their production of bespoke mirrors and very quickly became the first in their field in both France and throughout Europe. In 1875, Brot creates and patents an absolutely revolutionary mirror, the triple mirror which immediately acquires a worldwide reputation.
