.......Edmund george lycester maude roxby(1913-2001) british northen school industrial artist,an associate of the royal college of art by royal licence in 1957.a rare unique set of 3 oil paintings on canvas depicting cotton mill interiors with workers plying there skill-full trades in the factory.titled the dye house,the singe house ,the making up room .two loan exhibition labels to verso.edmund roxby ,sandfield house,toft,knutsford,cheshire.loaned by j.chadwick.o.g.l,oldham/not for of edmunds works of a mother and child oil on canvas can be seen at the sunderland museum and art gallery with various credits to the late artists estate.ref TWCMS-B2539.other works can be seen in private, public collections and institutions in the uk.edmund inherited the toft estate ,hall and land and titles in 1949 by decent,representative of cheshires most hounourable noble and ancient families and lineages.during the second world war toft hall was used as a prisoner of war camp for captured officers of the military,recently toft hall has had major restorations and renovated to its former glory.the three oil paintings on offer were probaly a commission by a local council civic trust dept or a local mill owner to adorn his board room or offices ,all three oils are signed and dated 1950,and are in there original untouched frames of this period,with two name plaques still attached .canvas size 28"x 36"overall size 32"x 41".price for the set of three.15000
