Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The top panel centred by a dove, alighting on leaves from which spread scrolling leaves, budding into flower head, and finished with mythical masks. The lower panel showing a pair of fierce mythical cats, standing in a large vase, from which sweep scrolling leaves finished with budding flowers, and mythical masks, as per the top panel. The frame finished with an inner rounded and stepped mould, holding the original plate. Complete with wood back board.
Very finely inlaid.
