Regency Period Octagonal Tortoiseshell and Ivory Double Tea Caddy

Description

A superb and totally original Regency Period octagonal tortoiseshell and ivory DOUBLE TEA CADDY.

The lid with its ivory finial opens to reveal red velvet inside, with two tea containers, each with its own tortoiseshell lid and ivory knob.

The containers themselves have remnants of the original lead lining papers. The hinge and escutcheons are white metal and the whole caddy is supported on four ivory ‘ball’ feet.
