A Late 17th - Early 18th Century Carved Box.

Description

A late 17th - early 18th century carved box, constructed from beech. The box has a carved front decorated with tulips with the original lock and hasp still present.

The sides and the lid of the box are carved with a more primitive cross hatch type design.

Inside the box still retains its original hinges, the lid has also slight warped. The beech timber has had some wood worm at some stage commiserate with age , but does has a lovely rich patination. Overall the box in very good condition for its age.
