Giacomo Merculiano. Born in Naples, Italy on the 29th September 1859 and died in Lille, France in 1935.
Giacomo Merculiano was an Italian sculptor, medallist and illustrator. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples. In 1900 he moved to Paris where he focused mainly on the depiction of strong animal subjects. He exhibited from 1914 at the Salon de Paris winning various medals and awards.
Merculiano works were always of very high quality and with great attention to detail.
