Edwardian Superior Cut Glass & Silver Lid Dressing Table Jar

A superior heavy cut glass and silver topped Dressing Table Jar, of nice proportions, (stands 9 cm high). The glass is cut in the hobnail design around the body and has a neatly cut star on the base. The silver top, which fits nicely, is beautifully embossed with flora and trellis design and the underneath is a lovely lemony yellow gilt finish. Hallmarks are visible on the lid for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1904 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also visible for the silver maker: Levi & Salaman.
 
 
 
A lovely jar and a good heavy weight in great antique condition with no chips to the cut glass or dents to the silver.
