Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Jugendstil is the German manifestation of Art Nouveau from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Glassware from this period typically features stylized organic forms, curvilinear motifs, precise geometry, and decorative embellishments such as enamel work and gold gilding.

These vessels were typically crafted from hand-blown clear or tinted soda-lime glass. Decoration was applied using techniques such as acid etching, wheel engraving, enamel painting, and liquid gold application that was subsequently fired for permanency.

Authentic pieces often exhibit precise hand-gilding wear consistent with age, minor irregularities in hand-blown glass, subtle pontil marks at the base, and specific designer attribution marks or acid-etched signatures on the underside of the foot.

Small glass items function well when displayed inside a glazed curio cabinet, placed upon a bar cart, or positioned on a sideboard top where natural light can highlight the glass clarity and gilt details.

Gilded glass should be hand-washed gently in tepid water with mild liquid detergent using a soft cloth. Dishwashers, hot water, abrasive sponges, and chemical cleaners must be avoided as they will strip gold leaf and enamel decorations.
