Description

Remarkable pair of large Renaissance revival walnut and leather hall or side chairs c.1890. Standing very nearly five foot tall, the arch top backrests and seats retaining the original thick leather panels beautifully embossed with a design of scrolling foliate forms. Topped with a pair of tall turned brass finials and featuring splendid oversized pointed brass studs to the edges. Walnut frames with turned and block legs joined with a carved front stretcher and raised on tassel feet. Obvious old stitched repairs to both seats. Otherwise good original condition with particularly good colour and patina, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
