Georgian Oak Welsh Longcase Clock. Circa 1770

18th century
Description

Pretty George III S. Wales oak cottage longcase clock with 8 day striking movement by Charles Vaughan of Pontypool (active c1750-80). The inlaid and mahogany banded case in fine original condition with only very minor repairs. The movement has just been overhauled and is in perfect working order and has its original lead weights.. The case a lovely deep honey colour with great waxed patina. Comes with all keys. A little gem.

Size; 80" high, 17" wide 9" deep at hood.
