Youngs Antiques has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
The sides of the chest have plain double panels, the top of the chest having an applied Ogee molding supporting the outer edge of the plank top.

The original heavily molded stand having a single plain drawer above five finely shaped legs, which almost look like music notes. The the legs are joined by concave shaped stretchers and are in turn supported by small turned bun feet.
The chest has had some minor wood worm damage in the past commiserate with age, but overall is in very good condition.
