Description

A very fine Victorian sapphire and diamond bangle in slightly rosy 15-carat gold, dating from c.1890. The 15-carat gold bracelet is set with four sapphires and three diamonds, all old cushion cuts. The sapphires are a very good royal blue colour and the diamonds have a nice white sparkle.

The gemstones are mounted in the upper half of the bangle with an elegantly carved scrollwork gallery along both edges. The under half of the bangle is formed of three gold bands joined by bars.

If you look carefully you'll see the beautifully hand inscribed initials H.G. inside.

In excellent antique condition; the hinge is in good working order, and the push-down clasp slides open smoothly and shuts securely, with safety chain for additional security.

Size: Internal circumference is just under seven inches. The bangle is 1cm wide (north-south) at the front, tapering down to approx 3mm at the back.
