Japanese Shadhana Cabinet.

19th century
Description

A japanese Pagoda top Shadhana cabinet,the cabinet is fitted 16 with Shibayama style panels showing Samurai warriors ,Geisha and still life vignettes ,4 sliding doors to top section ,above a shrine flanked by drawers and shelves,below are a pair of sliding doors ,the base is heavily carved with dragons ,,foliage, and grotesque masks,The top cornice with grotesque masks on a tiled roof,with a central family Mon above two entwined dragons amongst cloud scrolls.

Some loose pieces of mother of pearl shown in photos most seem to be there.

Very imppresive piece of quality Japanese furniture.
