A rare pair of lambing chairs. Of panelled construction with an open access to the rear to allow the lambs to keep warm. Having generous seats and broad support arms these are a one off. They have been in my own personal collection for many years. The previous custodians ancestors had the original one commissioned in the 18th century from timber on their estate and had the second one commissioned in the 19th century. Almost identical there is a minor difference in height but overall the history just adds to the charm. Never to be repeated. Rare being in elm with alder arms.
