Large Antique Twin Handled Apple Orchard Trophy Cup

1920 - 1940
Description

A fine example of a large sterling silver lidded trophy with twin handles, an octagonal footed base and decorative apple shaped finial. It is engraved for the "Whiteway Orchard Competition Challenge Cup. Presented by H Whiteway Esq for Orchard Improvement Class 6". It comes on its original oak base. The cup is an excellent quality piece, weighing approximately 963g.

It is clearly hallmarked for S Blanckensee & Son Ltd, Birmingham, 1932.

It is in very good condition with a clear hallmark. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are a few light surface marks but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
