Description

A French gilt bronze mounted tortoishell mantel clock of smaller proportions. A red tortoishell case with waisted sides and standing on cast feet. A decorative carrying handle and nicely cast case mounts. A brass bezel surround to the convex enamel dial with raised numeral segments and blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism signed with Richard & Co, Paris mark. Hourly and half hour gong striking. Circa 1885.
