Description

A elegant late 19thC French marble mounted crystal holy water font and white metal and gilt metal plaque of the Virgin Mary, surrounded by a garland and inscribed with the word Virgo. Looking upwards, the Virgin Mary and garland are beautifully defined and modelled. The marble mount is smooth, undamaged and creates an interesting background with striations and insets of different colour marbles. It has an inset ring for wall hanging.
