Description

Stunning pair of French Art Deco era bookends c1930. The bases are mounted with gilt bronzed spelter models of Alsatian/German Shepherd dogs in excellent condition. The bases are lined with shagreen effect paper, consistent with the 1930s period. The bases taper slightly behind the dogs’ tails and are in very good condition, with only very minor signs of wear on some edges.

All in all a sleek and stylish antique.
