Regency Scroll End Window Seat C.1820.

19th century
Description

Fabulous Regency period mahogany couch or window seat c.1820. High scroll shaped ends either side of a sprung seat with loose cushion. Unusual carved fronts to the ends featuring birds amongst papyrus plants – an Egyptian revival motif typical of the period. Moulded apron with well figured and symmetrically arranged flame mahogany veneers continued on the sides. Raised on bracket feet echoing the shape of the ends and carved to match. Freshly upholstered in William Morris’ golden lily pattern fabric. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
