Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tanzanite was discovered in northern Tanzania in 1967 and quickly rose to prominence in fine jewellery during the late twentieth century. Combined with diamonds in intricate cluster or dress ring designs, it became a staple of luxury gem-set jewellery.

Tanzanite is commonly mounted in 14ct or 18ct yellow gold and white gold to highlight its blue-violet tone. Settings frequently utilise claw mountings for main stones alongside halo, pave, or channel settings for surrounding diamonds.

Authentic tanzanite exhibits strong trichroism, showing distinct blue, violet, and burgundy hues depending on the viewing angle. Professional gemmological testing measuring refractive index and pleochroism confirms natural origin.

A tanzanite statement ring serves as a focal accessory for evening wear or tailored formal attire. Pairing it with neutral tones or complementary cool-spectrum outfit choices highlights the stones distinct coloration.

Tanzanite measures 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, making it sensitive to thermal shock and harsh chemicals. Clean gently using warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding steam or ultrasonic cleaners.
