Early Victorian Student oil lamp of of Argand parafin transitional design, circa 1850.
The cylindrical reservoir regulates / self levels, the feed of the paraffin to the duplex type double wick burner.
High quality well proportioned solid brass lamp, can be raised and lowered to suite the users need.
The tinplate filling cylinder has a dent, this doesn''t seem to effect the functionality.
Later dark green overlay high quality glass shade.
Height 23'' or 58.5cm, weight 5299 grams.
Not converted to electric light.
Not tried or tested with paraffin.
