A beautiful Antique French Baroque style clock set, profusely decorated with scrolling foliage. Stylised mythical creatures sit to each side with hoofed feet. The front of the clock is fretted to allow the pendulum to be seen swinging within the case. To the top is an urn supported by elaborate buttresses.
Candelabra are conforming in style and have snuffers to match the finial of the clock.
The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.
The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip to hear the bell and watch the clock running!
Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition just some nibbles next to the winding holes. One front foot is possibly slightly bent. Candelabra are slightly distorted.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
