The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The watch has a Thommen stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement was made by Thommen for Limit and is signed Limit No 2, Swiss Made. Limit were importers of watches into the UK, and they were based in Oldham in Lancashire, UK.
The watch measures 57mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop.
The back of the watch is also engraved for LNER, London North Eastern Railways.

LNER was one of the Big Four companies which operated between 1923 and 1948, along with Great Western, London Midland Scottish and Southern Railway.
The watch has its original glass lens. There are scratches across its but we thought it would be good to retain it as it is lovely and thick, and the would lose some of its character if replaced.
The signed dial is in lovely condition
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
