Rare Tartanware Card Case on Silver Chain - Stuart

Description

I haven't had this form of an antique Mauchline Tartan Ware card case before with the attached silver chain handle. Also it has an unusual silver catch keeping it shut tightly when being carried with the chain handle.

The tartan is "Stuart" and retains it's little gold on black label. The case has a wonderful shape with curved edges all around.

The hinge is in full working order and the interior looks unused. There is no loss to the tartan, just a little age crazed patch to the finish in one area, see photo.

Most unusual in excellent condition measuring 4 1/4" x 2 3/4".
