English Gothic Revival Stained Pine Cabinet

Description

A rare and exquisite English school stained pine side cabinet in the Gothic Revival/Aesthetic taste, circa 1870. The upper portion, with three open shelves fronted with attractive classical turned columns. Below sits one long drawer over two short drawers. The lower cupboard section enclosing a bank of six drawers with Campaign -style brass handles, six cubby holes and two larger storage areas. The upper and lower panels beautifully decorated with gilded hand finished stencils. Both front and sides with applied floral decoration. The whole with beautiful brass Gothic ironmongery. A rare and beautifully original piece that could be used in different ways and settings. Would suit a modern or period interior and would most definitely make a stunning centrepiece.
