Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The brass grilled doors having floral and grape decoration enclosing the bar area which has a backlit painted stained-glass style back flanked by glass shelves held by a twisted brass rope. The doors to the cabinet are solid and heavy and the glass thick and dimpled. Below the cabinet is a most wonderful secret revolving glass bar or counter of semi-circle form, again having twisted brass rope decoration. The upper cabinet stands on a finely carved base with cabriole legs with lions paw feet. Sourced from a fine Gloucester home called The Down House in Gloucestershire, England which can be seen in the images. Would sit equally well in a modern or traditional home. The piece has been completely rewired and PAT tested.
