Rare 'Giant' Striking Carriage Clock, Box & Original Key

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare 'giant' carriage clock. Fluted corinthian capped front and side columns and handle centre. Stepped case mouldings and standing on feet. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong by Parrot Freres. A gilt mask dial with silvered recessed chapter ring. Signed by the Channel Islands retailer to the dial 'HOLLINSHED JERSEY' The original lever escapement. Complete with the original numbered key and travelling box. Circa. 1900.
