Original, high quality set of three large antique brass fire tools, Irish or perhaps English, circa 1760
Comprising of a pierced shovel, pair of tongs and poker.
A rare design with pretty hand engraved spiraling foliate decoration to the shafts and stiff leaf decoration to the urn shaped finial handles and oval pivot box covers.
Poker and shovel cast in one piece, ''pierced'' decoration in shovel end is cast.
Length of shovel 29,1/2'' or 750mm
Weight of set 3.54 kilos
In very good sound condition with no damage or repair, minimal wear to the pivot joint on the tongs, general surface wear from use.
