Webberley Antiques has dated this piece to the Before 1700 period.
The stool has some old depletions from worm here and there - as shown in our photographs - but long dead and the stool is heavy and rock solid with no loose or crumbling to the frame and with no weakness or movement at the joints.
A very handsome and substantial early oak joint stool made in c. 1650, having good well balanced proportions and retaining the full original height of the legs. Entirely practical for use, with a particularly good rich colour and patination.

15 inches wide, 13 inches deep and 21.5 inches high.
