Pair Stuart Oak Chairs. Circa 1685

17th century
Description

Fine pair Stuart oak high back side chairs with solid seats and raised on well turned legs united with turned front stretcher and plain side stretchers. The finely carved shaped top above spoon shaped splat with central carved in mould. All in fine original condition but with slight crack to one front leg and wear to fore edge of seats. Wonderful rich colour with great waxed patina. Fine examples of their kind.

Size; 41" high, 19" wide (at front seat), 16" deep. 18" high seat
