Large Antique Pine Mule Chest

1900 - 1920
Description

A large old pine Mule Chest dating from c.1920, recently stripped so currently in bare wood ready for waxing or painting. Can be purchased as it is for £330, or waxed for £367.

Solid and in good condition for its age, with a lift up flat lid and original strap hinges, original candle box inside, and carrying handles on both ends. There is a full width bottom drawer, with its original ring pulls. The purpose of the mule chest, and how it differs from other chests, is that the bottom drawer is easier for one to access, then reaching to the bottom of a deep chest.

These flat top chest's make excellent alternatives to a coffee table.
