Early 20th Century Antique Oak Roll Top Desk

An impressive early 20th century antique oak roll top writing desk by the ‘Shannon File Co.’ of London with four drawers to one pedestal and a blind panel cupboard and drawer to the other. The roll top reveals a fitted interior having various drawers and pigeon holes and a tooled leather writing surface that can be drawn out for additional working space. To the right hand side is a small cupboard split into eight small compartments. Working lock and key for the roll top and also for the two cupboards.

CONDITION REPORT:

Our carpenter inspects, repairs and restores all our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is home ready!

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. The roll top runs well and the drawer locking mechanism still works. There’s some general surface wear in places and some minor scratches but overall in good condition. The leather writing surface is all intact with no rips or tears although there are some small minor marks. A good example of an antique roll top desk.
