Description

This charming tiny pair of vanity-bags - 'chanteh' in Persian - were woven by Shahsevan nomads in the Moghan plain, Azerbaijan, at around 1900. Both bags are woven in soumak technique on the face with madder-red plain-weave backs and are both in very good original condition.

Size: Each bag 18cm (7") square.
