Good scale and colour, probably in its original frame with a label to reverse. The frame has a couple of small loses to bottom right corner and halfway up on the righthand side. Having done a little research on Sussex churches to try and locate the village, I have nailed my colours to it being the Holy Trinity in Cuckfield! Actual artwork about 15" x 10". Harold Goldthwait was a landscape painter from Carshalton in Surrey. He who moved to Norwood Hill in London in 1898, then on to Lewes in East Sussex in 1910 and on to nearby Brighton in 1916. He travelled and painted throughout the southern counties of England. He exhibited widely, at the Royal Academy, London, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, the Goupil Gallery, the London Salon, the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. This is a typical and fine example of his work.
