Description

An iconic 1960s electromagnetic clock timepiece designed by the famous Italian architect and designer Angelo Mangiarotti, and manufactured by Secticon, Switzerland.
This T1 model has a Swiss mechanism and was manufacturered by Portescap in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

In these early days of distribution in the UK, the name Secticon was contested by Smiths on the basis that it was too close to their own name “Sectric”. The name was changed to Selticon, as per the signature on the dial on this clock. The challenge was unsuccessful and the name quickly reverted to Secticon.
