Tinker & Toad has dated this Victorian Ebonised Sewing Table to the Victorian era.
The Mother of Pearl cleverly used to decorate the buildings. Table lid rises to reveal a compartmental interior lined with fabric. Sides and legs are profusely painted with floral and scrolling gilt decoration. Single drawer above a painted shelf. The whole standing on curvaceous legs terminating with castors. A really lovely piece and rare to find in this good original condition. As well as a wonderful sowing table it could also be used as a side, console, occasional, bedside, centre, cloakroom or lamp table.
