Pair of Antique English Sterling Silver Heart Dishes - London 1896

Description

A charming and romantic pair of quality sterling silver dishes, not to be confused with many that are very thin and flimsy, this pair is made from a good gauge of silver with three highly decorative cast sterling feet.

The central heart of each is surrounded by particularly attractive pieced or reticulated work and a stunning border incorporating numerous flowers complimenting the central flower on each foot.

A good clear hallmark can be found on the underside of each dish for London 1896, making these good Victorian examples; the makers mark is also clear for Joseph Hicks.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 1/4" x 4 3/4".
