A particularly heavy gauge and sturdy, most attractive Egg Cup. (weighs 61.3 grams). The cup is a plain polished silver and the foot bears a protruding bead encircling. The underneath has a threaded area, suggesting it was once part of a set and stood on a stand, however, it is a lovely stand alone piece in its own right.
Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the Sheffield Assay office with a date mark for 1930 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also very clear for the renowned silversmiths: Mappin & Webb.
