Description

Original tall Art Nouveau bronze figure lamp by the French sculptor Jean-Jules Cambos (1828-1917) c.1900. Beautifully modelled as a female nude dancing with a billowing fabric shawl which coils across her body. Within the shawl is a bulb fitting to cast light down onto the face and torso. Clearly signed J. Cambos on the base and also cast with a clear Paris foundry stamp guarenteeing the material as bronze (rather than a cheaper spelter version). Mounted on the original 7? rouge griotte marble plith with moulded edge. Excellent condition with superb original colour and patina. Rewired retaining the original fitting.
