Antique English Silver Mounted Inkwell by William Comyns - 1908

Description

A stunning Edwardian ladies desk-top inkwell made from a hefty piece of glass, star-cut to the underside.

The inkwell is mounted with English sterling silver, the collar supporting the hinged lid with a domed centre surrounded by a cast pierced or reticulated border. The body is mounted with the prettiest floral garlands tied with ribbon bows.

The inkwell is clearly hallmarked for London 1908 together with the makers mark for the top-notch silversmith, William Comyns.

Excellent condition measuring 3 1/8" in diameter x 2 1/4" tall.
